The IBIA integrity report recorded 76 suspicious betting alerts during the second quarter of 2026 across nine different sports. Football remained the sport with the highest number of alerts, while esports ranked second. The report also highlights developments in Canada’s regulated betting market and integrity education initiatives.

The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) reported 76 suspicious betting alerts to the relevant authorities during Q2 2026. Football accounted for 25 alerts, followed by esports with 16, basketball with 10 and tennis with nine. The IBIA integrity report notes that the total may change if ongoing investigations identify additional cases.

Europe recorded the highest regional share of alerts with 33%, followed by South America with 22% and North America with 21%. Africa accounted for 15% of alerts, while Asia represented 4%. One group of 16 esports alerts was classified as global because the events could not be linked to a single jurisdiction.

Football alerts were spread across Africa, Europe, Oceania and South America. Kosovo recorded five football alerts, while Cameroon reported three and Brazil, Colombia and Paraguay each registered multiple cases. In basketball, nine of the 10 alerts originated in South America, mainly in Paraguay and Colombia.

The report also focuses on Canada’s regulated online betting market. According to presented data, Ontario’s online sports betting channelisation increased from 5% of gross gambling revenue in 2022 to 85% in 2023 and has remained above 90% since then. IBIA says the figures show how competitive regulation can move betting activity into regulated and monitored markets.

IBIA also highlighted its athlete education programme in Canada. Backed by a CAD 300,000 (ca. EUR 187,000) commitment from IBIA and members bet365, Betway and FanDuel, the initiative has already reached nearly 200 Canadian Premier League players and staff before expanding to the Canadian Football League in partnership with Genius Sports. The programme is based on IBIA’s three principles: “Rules, Responsibility and Reporting.”

In these analyses, the OGQ takes an in-depth look at the following topic: Growth potential of key online gambling markets – Western Europe focus – survey results Q4 2025. The data research is built around survey-based growth expectations, comparing how insiders rate different regions and selected Western European countries. It also maps how participants think Western Europe’s overall relevance will shift for their own business over the next year. Together, the charts show sentiment trends, relative positioning, and how stable expectations look across markets.

The chart shows how surveyed experts rate the next-12-month growth potential across major regions. Overall sentiment is fairly cautious, with clear separation between the most promising areas and mature markets.

Top performers are led by LatAm, which stands out as the strongest growth story in this ranking. Africa stays close behind, still seen as a high-upside region.

Stable expectations dominate the picture, with most regions grouped around modest growth rather than big swings.

Europe’s position remains at the lower end, with both Eastern and Western Europe rated weakest. Even so, this reads like maturity and regulation pressure, not a lack of activity.

This chart compares growth potential across key Western European markets within the next 12 months. The main takeaway is that expectations are positive but contained, with countries sitting close together.

Top performers are Spain and Italy, which sit at the upper end of the Western Europe pack. They look like the clearest “best of the bunch” markets right now.

Group revenue rose 17% year-on-year to USD 16.38bn, while average monthly players increased 14% to 15.9 million.

Net income swung to a USD 407m loss compared to a USD 162m profit in 2024. This was mainly due to a USD 556m non-cash impairment after India introduced legislation that stopped real-money gaming. Adjusted earnings per share still increased 9% to USD 7.94, reflecting growth in the underlying business.

The group also launched FanDuel Predicts, offering sports contracts in 18 states and non-sports markets across all 50 states.

International revenue grew 14% to USD 9.42bn, with adjusted EBITDA up 7% to USD 2.2bn.

Net debt stood at USD 10.6bn at the end of December, with leverage at 3.7x following acquisition activity and the buyout of Boyd’s stake in FanDuel. The company returned USD 1bn to shareholders during the year through share repurchases.

CEO Peter Jackson said: “Flutter delivered strong 2025 results,” pointing to progress in the US and across International markets. For 2026, Flutter expects revenue of USD 18.4bn and adjusted EBITDA of USD 2.97bn at the midpoint of its guidance.
