The FIFA World Cup 2026 attracted strong betting activity across all stages of the tournament. FIFA World Cup betting remained consistent throughout the six-week competition, according to new data from sportsbook supplier DATA.BET. The company analysed betting behaviour across matches, markets, teams and betting modes.

Pre-match betting accounted for 63% of total turnover, while live betting represented the remaining 37%. DATA.BET said this balance stayed almost unchanged throughout the tournament.
Statistical betting markets generated more than 11% of total turnover.
Betting activity became stronger as the tournament progressed. Although the group stage produced more than 33% more bets than the knockout rounds, turnover and the number of unique bettors remained at similar levels. The average stake during the play-off stage was 28% higher than during the group stage.

The semi-finals and final generated the highest turnover of the tournament. DATA.BET also compared betting activity with esports, saying the combined turnover of the FIFA World Cup and Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major was split 58.5% to 41.5% in favour of the World Cup. Yevhenii Ilchenko, Head of Sports at DATA.BET, said: “What made this World Cup stand out wasn’t one number — it was how consistently engaged bettors stayed for six straight weeks, till the final.”

Online gambling stocks performance was mixed last week, with the sector declining by an average of 1%, although it still outperformed the Nasdaq Composite, which fell by 2%. Catena Media and Raketech posted the strongest gains, while Rush Street and Gambling.com recorded the steepest declines, highlighting another week of varied investor sentiment across the industry.

Overview

Average growth – On average, share prices analyzed decreased by -1% in the last week.

“Winner” – The most significant leap in our sample of online gambling-focused companies was taken by Catena Media with an increase of +5%, followed by Raketech (+4%).

“Loser” – Rush Street and Gambling.com had the worst weekly performance in our analysis, with a change of -9% and -8%.

Comparison to the Nasdaq Composite – Compared to the development of the Nasdaq Composite (-2%), the average development of the online gambling industry looks “better”.

Segment-specific developments

Online-focused operators – The shares of online-focused operators included in the analysis saw, on average, a decrease of -3%; with Codere Online (+2%) leading the ranking.

Multi-channel operators – Among the multi-channel operators that also operate a relevant retail business, Evoke is the “winner” with +0.6% while the average share development was -1%.

Suppliers – The shares of the suppliers included in the analysis saw, on average, a decrease of -1%. The winner is Playtech with +1%.

Affiliates – On average, affiliates’ shares saw a decrease of -0.1% with Catena Media (+5%) leading and Gambling.com (-8%) coming last.

The share increase of Catena Media

Catena Media’s shares gained during the week after investors continued to react positively to the company’s improving shareholder structure following the disclosure that Nordic Compound Invest had increased its stake above 10% earlier in July. With no negative company announcements during the week and the next quarterly results scheduled for 11 August, the higher ownership commitment appears to have supported market sentiment and helped lift the stock.

The decline of Rush Street shares

Rush Street Interactive’s shares came under pressure last week as investors appeared to take profits ahead of the company’s second-quarter results, which are scheduled for 29 July. With no major corporate announcements during the week following the Alberta launch earlier in July, market attention shifted to earnings expectations, contributing to weaker sentiment ahead of the release.

Argentina’s regulated online gaming market is highly competitive and driven by local operators. The new Argentina iGaming report from GR8_TECH explores where operators can still find opportunities despite strong competition. The report examines visibility, SEO, affiliates, mobile, sports betting, casino content, slot suppliers, and player acquisition across the market.

Instagram remains the main social platform for Argentina online gambling operators. The latest March/April 2026 data shows licensed brands continue to dominate social visibility across the market. Betsson tops the ranking, followed by BetWarrior and Bplay.

Betsson had the largest social media audience among the reviewed operators in Argentina during March/April 2026. BetWarrior ranked second, followed by Bplay. Instagram accounted for the biggest share of followers for the leading brands.

Instagram was the dominant social platform across the market, while Facebook, X and YouTube had smaller audiences. The analysis only included country-specific social media channels linked on operators’ official websites. Facebook pages for Bplay and Sportsbet.ar were not accessible during the review.

The data shows that local licensed operators continue to lead online visibility in Argentina. This suggests offshore operators currently have a limited presence in terms of social reach. However, market share by revenue may differ, as it depends on where high-stakes players choose to bet.

In these analyses, the OGQ takes an in-depth look at the Number of slot games offered at crypto casinos – benchmarking analysis – Q2 2026. The data research compares how broad crypto casino portfolios are across major operators, focusing on slot games and live games.

Number of slot games offered – benchmarking analysis – Crypto – Q2/2026

BC.Game leads the slot games ranking with the largest crypto casino slot portfolio in the analysis. The chart also shows a wide spread between the biggest operators and the lower-ranked brands.

Top performer: BC.Game ranks first with 8,880 slot games. Gamdom and Sportsbet.io also stand out with sizeable portfolios above 7,000 titles.

Lower rankings: Shuffle has the smallest slot range, with 2,658 games. Thrill and Whale.io also sit below the broader market average.

Number of live games offered – benchmarking analysis – Crypto – Q2/2026

Top performer: Gamdom leads with 904 live games, well ahead of all rivals. Duel follows in second place with 501 live games.

Average level: The average stands at 258 live games, but only a few operators exceed it. This points to a thinner live casino market overall.

Online gambling stocks performance weakened over the past week, with the companies in our analysis posting an average share price decline of 2%, underperforming the Nasdaq Composite’s 1% loss. Gentoo Media stood out with the strongest gain at 8%, while Flutter recorded the sharpest decline, highlighting another mixed week across the sector.

Overview

Average growth – On average, share prices analyzed decreased by -2% in the last week.

“Winner” – The most significant leap in our sample of online gambling-focused companies was taken by Gentoo Media with an increase of +8%, followed by Bet-at-Home (+3%).

“Loser” – Flutter had the worst weekly performance in our analysis, with a change of -11%.

Comparison to the Nasdaq Composite – Compared to the development of the Nasdaq Composite (-1%), the average development of the online gambling industry looks “worse”.

Segment-specific developments

Online-focused operators – The shares of online-focused operators included in the analysis saw, on average, a decrease of -3%; with Bet-at-Home (+3%) leading the ranking.

Multi-channel operators – Among the multi-channel operators that also operate a relevant retail business, Caesars is the “winner” with +0.7% while the average share development was -1%.

Suppliers – The shares of the suppliers included in the analysis saw, on average, a decrease of -3%. The winner is Kambi with +3%.

Affiliates – On average, affiliates’ shares saw a decrease of -0.2% with Gentoo Media (+8%) leading and Gambling.com (-5%) coming last.

The share increase of Gentoo Media

Gentoo Media’s shares were supported by the company’s announcement of Måns Svalborn as its new Chief Financial Officer on 13 July. Investors appeared to welcome the appointment, as Svalborn brings more than two decades of financial leadership experience in the iGaming sector, including his previous role as Group CFO at Raketech, reinforcing confidence in Gentoo’s management team following the CFO transition earlier this year.

The decline of Flutter shares

Flutter did not announce any material company-specific news between 13 and 17 July that would explain the sharp share price decline. Instead, the stock appears to have come under pressure as investors continued to rotate out of growth names during a broader market sell-off, while ongoing concerns about increasing competition from prediction markets and the company’s upcoming London Stock Exchange delisting continued to weigh on sentiment.
